Why I Created
The Claude Code Accelerator
I'm Alec Johnson, founder of Take One Tech and the Digital Stage Academy. I spent a long time deciding Claude Code wasn't for me. I was wrong โ and not for the reason I expected.
When Claude Code launched I didn't touch it, and my reasoning felt sound at the time: I'm not setting out to build software, so it isn't for me. I was perfectly happy with how I was working. Claude in a chat, projects set up the way I wanted them, workflows that got the job done.
And they did get the job done. But there was always a bit of friction in them โ bits I had cobbled together that I knew full well were hacks. I was in no doubt that AI had improved what I produce no end, and equally certain there were parts of it that could be far better than they were.
When I finally sat down and looked at Claude Code properly, I found that most of the things quietly costing me time were already solved by it. And the part that genuinely surprised me: almost none of it had anything to do with coding.
It was about giving the tool the context it needed, telling it what mattered, and letting it work on my real files rather than in a box I had to keep lifting things out of. I now run my business through it โ planning, writing, research, admin, the lot โ and the coding is almost a side effect.

Who is the Claude Code Accelerator for?
Solopreneurs and small business owners who already use AI every day โ Claude or ChatGPT, at the chat and Projects level โ and can feel there is more available than they are getting. You do not need to be technical, and you do not need to have opened Claude Code before. If you have opened it once, looked at it and thought "I have no idea what I'm doing here", you are exactly who this is for.
Do I need to be able to code?
No, and this is the thing most people get wrong about Claude Code. It is not a coding tool with a confusing name โ it is the most capable way to work with AI, and most of what you will do in this programme has nothing to do with code. You will not write a line of it unless you want to.
I'm on Windows. Does this work for me?
Yes. Claude Code runs on Windows and everything taught here applies. I will be demonstrating on a Mac, so a few of the click-by-click steps will look slightly different on your machine โ the setup session covers the Windows route, and you will not be left behind on it.
What do I need before we start?
A computer, and a Claude subscription. The standard $20 a month plan is enough for everything in this programme โ one of the first things we will clear up is that the ceiling you have been hitting is the interface, not the plan.
Why weekly sessions?
Because this is a change to how you work, not a project you complete in a week. New ways of working need momentum. Seven consecutive Wednesdays is what makes it stick.
What if I can't attend a live session?
Every session is recorded. Catch up at your own pace and bring your questions to the next one.
